R.C.I.A. FOR ADULTS
For adults seeking Baptism, we have an ongoing process called the catechumenate (a catechumen is a person undergoing instruction). This is also the appropriate process for those Baptized in another faith tradition who wish to become Catholic, and for Catholic adults who have not been Confirmed. The process is often referred to as the RCIA ( Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults). Adults meet on Thursday evenings from 7:15-8:45 p.m. Volunteers are always welcome and needed as sponsors for those joining the Church and for the catechumenate team.

R.C.I.A. FOR CHILDREN (through Grade 5)
For older children and adults seeking Baptism, we offer an ongoing process of formation called The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). This process is also appropriate for those who were baptized in another faith tradition and wish to become Catholic, and for Catholic adults who have not been Confirmed.
Full initiation into the Church occurs in stages and includes celebration of the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. The initiation process is meant to respect the developmental nature of faith growth. It incorporates the catechetical and liturgical stages in a one to two year process that allows the candidates to become sensitive to God’s invitation to love, to become familiar with the teachings of the Church, and to experience the community dimension of Church. The members of our Tri-Community share this journey of faith through their prayer, witness and companionship.
Children who have reached catechetical age (usually the age of 7) are appropriate candidates for the RCIA process. Adaptations in the process are often made for children.
Participation in the RCIA process begins with our gathering some initial family information, followed by an interview with the candidate. The RCIA group meets on Thursdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in room 3 of the Parish Center. RCIA for children meets twice monthly. Children should also be enrolled in Religious Formation classes appropriate for their age.

"Inquiry" classes are open to any youth who is interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, youth who are not Catholic but wish to further explore the faith, or youth who need to receive the sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation and/or First Eucharist. These classes are held in addition to the regularly scheduled Youth Ministry activities on Wednesday evenings. Class content includes: Faith issues, Catholic identity and the privilege of being Catholic, forms of prayer, Scripture, Sacraments, Church tradition, and history.
Sacramental Prep and Inquiry students are strongly encouraged to participate in their peer community events in Youth Ministry--including parish, regional and diocesan events as well as Tri-Community service projects.
