Tri-Community Guild
Parishioners—women and men—who come together in the spirit of friendship and love of others, the Guild meets in the Parish Center kitchen on Monday mornings to cut vegetables for the Marian House Soup Kitchen, supports the Food Pantry, makes Rosaries for the Missions and other organizations that request them (over 5,000 per year), bakes cookies for the Food Pantry at Thanksgiving, and during the holiday season donates items (gloves, socks, hats, etc.) to seniors in nursing homes. Guild members also enjoy the camaraderie of social activities. Men and women from all three communities are welcome and invited to join the Guild.Men of Faith
The Men of Faith group meets weekly on Tuesday evenings for fellowship, Scripture study, and faith sharing. They also help with various parish projects, such as organizing and preparing the Lord’s Dinner when there’s a 5th Sunday, and hosting the annual Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Pancake Supper.JustFAITH
Our Christian faith and Biblical tradition extend an extraordinary invitation to each of us and our faith communities to become agents of God’s compassion and healing in a wounded world. The Good News of Christ is both a comfort and a promise for the poor and, at the same time, a call to those of us who are not poor to be linked with God’s vision of justice and reconciliation. The Church’s history shines with examples of the courage and commitment of those who dedicated themselves to the needs of their most desperate sisters and brothers. The JustFAITH group works to promote awareness of Social Justice issues and to offer tools and resources for action and change. Recent activities include monthly sales of Fair Trade coffee and food items, and participation in the Westside Community Garden, with the goal of growing fresh vegetables for the Food Pantry.
